COVID-19: Strong academic leadership needed in times of crisis

The current situation we find ourselves in has left society searching for an appropriate response to this unprecedented crisis. The major disruptions to teaching, research and university operations brought about by COVID-19 could not have been predicted and required innovative responses by university leaders. While each CALIE project partner has responded differently and according to their unique campus needs (see below), we believe there is much to be learned from the various approachs and look forward to sharing best practices throughout the fall.

Without a doubt, the events of this year have reaffirmed the CALIE project’s two main pillars—the renewal of education and strong academic leadership—and provided inspiration as our partners in Sweden and in the USA met their missions while creating safe research and learning environments for their students, staff and the broader community.
